Not leaving the Forum just not posting
Good morning everyone:

Thank you all for the notes and confidence. I am not leaving the Forum just
going to curtail posting for now. Reasons are not because of criticizing,
so long as it is constructive and is actually a help to all, that is how we
make up grades better at times or correct a procedure on how to do
something. No, more to the point, is when flippancy will get someone hurt
or cost them money for repairs that are not needed. Or when a subject gets
the point of harming the flow of information to the Majority. It was stated
that this sort of thing is harmful to new owners and I agree, but even with
that it is not a loss and no, this is not personal, I am highly concerned
that some one will think they don't have a problem, when in fact they do
with their Coach. Bottom line on this thread is, how hard is it to plug the
coach into 110 vac, take a meter set to AC volts, stick the black probe in
the ground and the red one to the entry door and see if you have a voltage
reading?

Insulation on wiring can and will wear thin over the years by vibration
movement and by less and quality installation. Even though that insulation
is thin, ohms scale on the meter will still tell you there is not short and
you good to go, wrong! There is a little item called EMF (Electro Motive
Force) and wiring insulation is designed to keep this EMF curtailed within
the wire, but when that insulation becomes thin the EMF will induct voltage
from that wire to a surrounding surface most generally a ground source or
neutral. And that, folks is what gives you a hot skin and can be a danger
and my original intent was to suggest that the hot skin test be added to
your yearly or 6 month PM schedule. It is just as important as checking the
front hubs for 90 weight oil as a for instance. Forgive me, I become
passionate when it comes to safety or needless monies spent. With that in
mind, I have tried to write items to the Forum that are thought out and not
get friends hurt.

To the new owners, please do not take all of this in dismay, this and other
Forum venues are excellent places to get or share information for all of
us. I was a member of the original Forum number 199 or so, it has been a
while back for sure. This forum has grown, not only in membership, but in
the very knowledge base we all came here in hopes of getting. Yes, I and
others like Jeff and others, in the beginning wrote most of the system
things you see in the files, then as time went on, other found the
WanderlodgeForum and added to that knowledge base and the next thing you
know, we are fixing or helping to fix Coaches down on the side of the road,
or helping an Owner to keep from getting over charged for work in a shop
some where. This Forum has even gotten to the point of talking to the tech
doing the work in a shop but has not a clue as how Birds work, it is simply
amazing to me how such a Forum can do all that just to help someone out. It
is not for money that we are here, it is not because we have nothing else
to do, but it is for the love of these machines and how they run and look.
We all like the thumbs up we get in fuel stops and the way kids will see
the older Birds and point. Well enough of that.

We have all made a ton of Friends here and from time to time shared many a
campfire together. Charolette and I were looking at the photo albums of
those whom we have met out on the road, there are three of them now, albums
that is and we relish the Friends made and the Fellowship and that was all
started right here. In my signature the words "safe travels" is not just a
saying to us, it is words that are heart felt from our home to yours.

Safe travels,

Ralph and Charolette Fullenwider
