These Thomas pumps for the microphor toilet
Ron & Ruth,
The Thomas 12VDC compressor in my bus is set only run when there is no shore power for the 120VAC compressor. This is done by adjusting the ON?OFF pressure switches cut in and cut out points so they won't trigger the small compressor when the large one has power. Another problem that sometimes effects the Thomas compressor is a faulty check valve somewhere in the system that allows the Thomas compressor to loose pressure into other parts of the air system such as the suspension etc. When you drain water from the Thomas compressor's small tank, be sure to have the compressor running. Otherwise water trapped in the compressor itself and in the lines going to it will not drain. A change in the sound it makes running is a sure way to tell there is water in the system. After replacing a couple of check valves mine will hold for weeks of non-use without loosing air. (I shut it off, check the guage and check back weeks later.) It only cycles after several Microphor flushes. BTW, the regulator inside the Microphor is a known source of leaks. I removed mine and put another regulator for the toilet down by the air pressure switches. Now both systems have air regulators with guages making setting the cut in and out pressures easier. Rich D.
