Using Trans. Retarder & Jake Brake
This question came up some time ago..."can the Trans. Retarder and the Jake Brake be operational at the same time. I have not tried both, yet...but will the next time out. The two are independent. Will be an interesting test. I'll watch the trans. temp. gauges to see if they get up to the usual retarder only temps. I'm thinking the temps. will be less. Might be too much brake on the down hills.
