Noisy relay
It is a mechanically amplified and transmitted sound through the thing they are mounted on. If it really eats your lunch, mount the boxes on Lord or some other rubber mounts from Grainger.

Under my rear clothes closet there four metal boxes with four relays in each, one of these are setting up a high pitch harmonic sound that's very annoying, I've cleaned the contacts and stuffed insulation around the boxes, it helped some but not enough. Has anyone had this problem? if so what's the fix, are these relays available? Lee Brown 94WB 40
