Route info Las Vegas- Phoenix
Both ways are pretty good roads. The map makes 68 look better than it is from
Kingman to Laughlin. Once you cross over the mountain range, the downhill side is about 13(?) miles of 7% grade, as I recall, with multiple switchbacks. Make *very* sure you are in a lower gear when you start the downhill side. There is also a stop light at the very end of the last downhill section. To me, 93 over the dam is a much easier ride. Yes, there is a downhill to the dam (downshift again) and one nasty switchback on the way back up the Nevada side, but it is a unique ride. However, I think the new bridge bypass is scheduled for August completion, which will hake it a straight shot. Have a great trip. I can see twists and turns on the map, but I don't have any idea how it would be with a 40' Bird towing a car. > |
