12.5 Kohlar question(s)

After struggling generator problems I
removed the generator and have been cleaning things up. I have rebuilt
and static tested the control box undoing modifications that someone had made.
The original design is pretty simple and reliable. I do have two
mechanical questions as I have electrical drawings but no mechanical drawings.

1. Fuel cutoff has always been a
problem. There is a spring from the actuator arm on the injector pump to
the timing belt housing and it has interference problems with other items in
the area. Most Diesels I have worked on have a spring on the Fuel cutoff solenoid.
Where is the return spring supposed to be?

2. Is there a source for the rubber boot
on the fuel cutoff solenoid?

3. There is a micro-switch mounted
below the fuel cutoff solenoid. It does not appear on the generator electrical
drawings and what ever activated it is missing. Does anyone know what it
is supposed to control or indicate?
