1990 W-B40 CHARGING SYSTEM
For what it is worth, I abandoned chargers. I put in two highly regulated switching supplies set to .3VDC lower than the max voltage of my batteries. I let the engine alternator do any max equalize and float up. The supplies cough up all the power the bus needs and can recover the batteries at an alarming 100 amps of initial inrush charge. I just no longer believe in all this hocus pocus charger special set up jazz. Sure as batteries change temperature the "float voltage" can change but the point of the .3 volt shortfall takes care of that. I wind up with batteries charged to 90% at all times on average and even if you look at the temperature curves of freezing cold to engine compartment hot, the numbers are right on the money.

Ed,

I have “overhauled” all three of the furnaces in our 82 so if you need any help or information give me a call. I can’t tell you how to get the furnace our of a SP but can say to look real carefully. I started to tale the cabinet apart to remove one of ours only to discover that all the parts around the furnace was held in place by magnets. I all of ours the case stayed in place. There were two screws in front, then I had to remove the gas line and the screw through the exhaust and the “works” slid out.
