Air conditioners?

Air conditioners?
If the thermostats are replacements, they may have dead batteries.

The thermostats will operate the ac via relay switches. You can purchase a
voltmeter these days at a dollar store. Check both the low voltage and, if you
feel knowledgeable enough, the main power at the relays.

If you have a doorbell, it probably works on the same voltage as the
thermostats. Does it work?

Check for green crud around ground wires (usually green or black).

Low voltage systems will be small wires, no larger than lamp cord. Thick wires,
like on a household toaster or thicker, will be full voltage. Make sure power is
OFF before doing anything other than testing.

Tester rules: clip one side to ground, hold probe with one hand, keep other hand
behind your back, wear rubber-soled shoes.

I once had my household ac not come on. Turned out ants had nested in the relay
switch. I cleaned and dusted, lubricated, and was back in business, saving what
others may have paid about 5 grand. There are sharks out there!

Somewhere, somehow, this has to be simple. (Three compressors didn't burn up at
the same time.) Look for the unexpected, corrosion, bugs, mud, broken wires,
dead A cells, series wiring with one broken link.

If you have a decent parts place nearby, try to get the guy to show you
replacement items (relay switches, etc.) Photograph them on your digital camera.
Find and compare with what's on your bus.

Be safe, keep trying, and keep us posted.
