Got the steps working on the Rebel Bird
I believe that the "heater strip" that you're referring to is the
pressure-sensitive switch that Tom Warner referred to in an earlier
reply to your problem. It was designed (as he had mentioned) to
prevent toe-pinch by stopping the step from pulling in if a foot
touched the pressure switch. Is this stuck to the underside of the
steel just above the step? Simply disconnecting it will allow the
step to pull in, often by now they no longer work correctly.
