Maybe Buy The Bird Maybe Not?
Margo,
Having just sold my 83 PT40, I am sitting here chuckling at your comments about the potential 'buyers' that you have run into so far. Hang in there. You will run across a knowledgeable buyer at some point. Ignore the bottom-feeders looking for a steal. I particularly liked the guy that called me on his cell while sitting in front of my Bird and asked "Hey, I was wondering how much you wanted for this Winnebago thing here with your phone number on it?!" That was a very short conversation! Note to potential buyers: The first question should not be "How much do you want for this thing"? It's a dead give-away that you have no idea what you are looking at or what it is worth. And maybe you are in the wrong market. I could write a buyer's tutorial right now on what not to do when attempting to negotiate a BB purchase. I do not know right now when the next Rally is after Montgomery - waiting on Tony Holtermann to post the calendar for the year that he has developed. Should be in about 60 days though. It will be posted on the forum. How far are you from Montgomery in case people want to stop over and look at the coach? You can contact me offline with contact info.
