Man is manual. a ball valve is a 1/4 turn valve. 1/4 turn valves have
a ball with a hole in them attached to a handle that rotates shut.
plastic ball valves tend to not get scum pit damage and are self
cleaning. ( Mike, I reframed)

In the 94pt You would put the Man ball Valve just before or just
after the electric valve. It may be a good idea to put it after
(between the Sporlan and the storage tank). Placing it After the
Sporlan will allow you to close off the tank while cleaning the
Sporlan.

While filling my water tank, I turned the outside fill switch off and
disconnected the hose. Went inside to use the water pump and it would
not pressurize. So- thought that the sporlan valve was stuck. With my
socket set and a towel, I removed the 4 bolts and banged on it-
usually, that Ernie fix works great. I turned the water pump back on -
nothing- no pressure. I went to get more tools- aka bigger hammer, and
left the pump on. Outside I had a lake- the backflow valve on the water
inlet had stuck allowing all the water, while the pump was on to drain
outside. Stuck a screwdiver in that and that water stopped flowing and
everything is back to normal.
Anyone have that happen to them? Ernie- 83PT40 in Montana

Yes, I've had that happen. I bought a brass hose shut off with a male and
female end and
screwed it into the hose inlet on the coach so I could just turn it off and
avoid any future
problems with the backflow valve. Cheap insurance.

I did the same as mine would stick from time to time..think maybe
had granules of calcium stuck in valve. Thought about getting a
rebuild kit, but didn't want to have to pull it out from the inside.

There are two Sporlan valves at the back of the coach. I assume they
control the chassis heat water flow. One stays very warm with all
switches set to off. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Curt,

Are you saying the housing of the valve stays warm? If so, I'd check
the power going to the valve solenoid with a tester. Sounds like maybe
your dash switch isn't working correctly to open the circuit when you
switch it to off.

One switch controls the "Summer/Winter" valve for all of the "chassis"
heaters in the coach & the other switch controls the front passenger
heater line valve. At least that's the way my 82 is set up.
