Racor Filter

don, i have seen a couple of Racor's that were mounted pretty low on the
frame. it could have happened. Mine is up almost 18 inches above the tank and
couldn't siphon. ERnie in montana- maybe bringing the coach up here where it's
cool next month

Hay Ernie I would mind being in Montana myself. Tomorrow I think I will try
it with taking the top off of the Racor & see if that doesn't brake the
siphon. I had never tried to drain it before Just a little to get any
settlement
out of it. Tom I know the key wasn't on in the rear because it will start from
up front& it won't if the key is on in the rear.

If you got more then a coffee can out of your racor, then you were
syphoning it out of the tank. No matter how hard you try you cant get a
gallon of diesel from a quart jar . And for the syphon to work the
racor does not have to be below the tank. If the lines are already filled
and I assume they were, you could probably have taken fuel out of the
bottom of the racor until you ran the tank dry. I have a strong feeling
that you had the key on maybe from the rear?

About four days ago I did the same thing. If you take the cap of the top of
the racor, it will no longer siphon from the tank.
