Aux Batt solenoid on PT
Hmmm..."what is your problem"...there's a wide ranging question....

Really I don't have a problem right now. I am just trying to learn
my new coach. I knew my old FC inside and out, and that gave me some
confidence that if I ever had a problem on the road, maybe I could
diagnose it & fix it. I want to feel that way about my PT, too. I
also want to make sure that the charging circuit is charging the
generator battery as it is supposed to.

Scott,
That's a good idea. I am electrically and mechanically challenged. I had a
problem with my generator battery not charging that part I was able to diagnose.
I suspected the diode but had no idea where it was located. I was told it was up
front in the battery compartment, was under the coach up front, was near the
breaker box at the generator. I finally found it in the charger compartment in
the rear.
Turns out my problem was a blown 30 amp circuit breaker. I am also the proud
owner of a new diode and a new solenoid.

Scott,
Have you used your multimeter and checked the voltage at the gen.
battery? First before you start the gen. Than again after the gen. is
running. The increase in voltage when the gen. is running tells you
that the charge circuit is working. No change in voltage, or lower,
you know the charge is not working.

OK, the voltage went up with the gen running. So I guess the circuit
works.

Agree. Good.

Do the same test using shore power.

Aux Batt solenoid on PT
TO be assured that the gen battery is charging under all conditions,
check with the shore power, then generator running , then the engine
alternator running and charging.
