Tie rod ends/boots/ball joints

Tie rod ends/boots/ball joints
When I had my tie rod end and drag link replaced the initial plan was to simply replace the tie rod end -- but the shop was unable to remove the old tie rod end without damaging the drag link (thanks to rust and corrosion). So, be aware that you might need to replace more parts than intended due to disassembly difficulties. Fortunately, the parts weren't all that expensive as parts for a bus go...

Joe,
Sounds good to me - the part number might help. And, it sounds like I can always have them pull one and match it up if that doesn't work.
Thanks everyone for the great advice - much appreciated!

Hi Jerry,

I had the rod ends on my PT 40 replace by the GMC truck center in Oakland. They didnt seem to have problems finding the parts though...
Im away from home now, but will be back in a few days, if you want I can look up the part number and let you know. That is if the numbers are on the RO.

Pete,

Thanks for the lead. I've contacted A to Z and I haven't got very far yet (I'm pushing the issue). A to Z claimed they don't carry Wanderlodge stuff and to contact Holland in San Diego. I've emailed A to Z back and let him know I'm not looking for coach parts - I'm looking for chassis parts, which they should have. I'm awaiting his reply now.

I did contact Holland to see if they did have parts. The parts guy who answered the phone had never heard of a tie rod and had no idea what it was. I guess I'm getting old - even my wife (non mechanic) has heard of a tie rod before! If I get some good info I'll post it so others have it.

If anyone else has a lead on chassis parts (tie rods/boots for the front end) or has the part number, I would appreciate the info.
