Swing out radiator
I have a 82 FC35 BB and want to install a swing out radiator. I live
in southern Calif. Does anyone know of any place that will do the job
and how much? I just lost a belt and what a job to replace without
the swing out. Please help.

Thanks Jim @ jhmarsh@...

Jim,
What area of SO Cal do you live? I have lots of pictures of the 1974
Bird swing out radiator that I did. If you are handy you can do the job
yourself. If you are close to Anaheim Hills I can perhaps assist.

With the pictures that I have taken you should be able to do most of
it yourself except probably the welding of the hinge on the support
that you bolt the radiator to. You have to add new transmission lines
that are long enough to let the radiator swing out, fabricate a new
lower radiator connection (or you can buy it from Holland motor homes
in Michigan for about $65), install new lower and upper radiator hose
long enough to let the radiator swing out and then bolt everything
together. Its really not such a big job if you see it once and then copy it.

I live in Twin Peaks Ca. (Lake Arrowhead) but I keep my BB in the Palm Springs
area. It sounds like I may be able to do the job myself with a little help.
Can you e-mail me your pictures? If so send them to my other e-mail address.
jhmarsh@.... Thanks alot Curt.
