There is a gentleman who is listed in the forum who makes a brass insert
for the fuel port that mostly prevents splashback. I say mostly because it is not a complete solution since it will blow back some if you are running full bore on high speed pump. I like the terrycloth rag idea and it seems safe and practical. Pete Masterson Is there any reasonable solution to the BB's tendency to "gush" fuel just before the tank is full? I try to estimate the amount of fuel to take on ... but the fuel gauge is hardly precise enough to get within 20-30 gallons. I wear vinyl gloves when fueling, but when a gallon or so splashes out, it tends to cover everything - gloves or not. (I've learned to stand back!) Pete Masterson aeonix1@... I remember reading about that one ... but I can't find the email in
the archive... I'll probably do the rag thing for now. The pressure equalization tube as described by Jeff Miller is probably the "real" fix -- but is a lot more work to install. (Rags, I have. Access to the top of the fuel tank isn't easy.) Pete Masterson aeonix1@... Billy's unit works fine as long as you are not on the highest output
of the nozzle. I run mine at high till I know that I am within 50 gallons of the top and then I cut it back to prevent the blow back. R.E. No Ralph, that's the second thing to go. I can't remember what the first was.

BIlly Dawson's email is now sherryandbilly@..., phone
830-305-7496. The address, 4570 Barbarosa Road, Sequin, TX 78155 is still correct. I spoke with him this morning, and it is important to know what year/ model BB you have as newer ones have a smaller fuel pipe and 87-89 (if I got that right) have a half-moon shaped ledge (to help hold the nozzle) that would have to be removed to allow the baffle to fit.
