Air Regulator - Microphor Toilet

[Curt Sprenger]

We have the Microphor Air Operated toilet in our coach. The air pressure
regulator exhaust port is leaking, causing the compressor to cycle every
35 minutes. Microphor tells me that the regulator is defective, bad
seal(s).

Microphor wants $290 for a new regulator, $95 for Microphor to rebuild
ours, $65 for a rebuild kit.

Clippard wants about $15.00 for what looks to be the same regulator as
installed with our toilet.

Has anyone replaced this regulator? What brand, part #, cost, purchased
where, etc?

Curt if I understand how the Microphor air operated toilet works, any
regulator that maintains a pressure of 60-65 PSI and has a filter to
keep out the debris will work. You can get one that size for less
then $20 at harbor freight for

or if you want just the regulator its less then

Hi Curt,

I had the same problem and replaced the regulator with one that is
mounted in the bay next to the aux tank instead of inside the back
of the toilet. I also replaced the check valves at the same time.
Total cost (MvMaster Carr) about $20.00. They have the plastic lines
and push connector fittings too. The regulator is now mounted next
to the one for the 120VAC compressor and since both have gauges, it
is easy to adjust them so that the 12VDC compressor won't run unless
the 120VAC or engine air is absent.

Thanks Rich,

I have thought about doing the same thing, but first I need to resolve a
leak(s) in the 120V compressor service lines, it cycles every 20 to 25
minutes, so I don't use it much, yet.

Curt,
One of the leaks in my system was a faulty check valve allowing the
12VDC compressor tank to leak back to the main aux. tank. With that
resolved, the little Microphor tank holds for weeks/months at a
time. I leave the 12VDC compressor ON all the time and the only time
it kicks in is when the 120VAC compressor is left OFF. (Leaks in the
aux tank cause the 120VAC one to cycle every 90 minutes or so.) I'm
still hunting leaks and sure wood like that to hold overnight so the
120VAC compresor wouldn't start during the night. BB tells me that
every 2-4 hours is "normal" but I hate leaks!

I've got .pdf's of the before and after air line schematic. The
modification was per what Bennis said was their new way of plumbing
the Microphor. Email if you want them. I have the Microphor service
