I put potable water in tank, opened the kitchen & bathroom sink
facuets. When I turn the pump on, i'm not getting any water or even gurgling air. I'm not sure how long I can let pump run dry or if I need and there is a way to prime the pump. Mark 80FC35 |

Should be self-priming, ... is an '80 under the galley sink? If so,
remove the pegboard behind/below the sink, find the pump. Careful, the original pump is belt-drive and it will bite. You can disconnect the lines to see if water is making it to the pump, might be a stuck check valve or other on the suction side (had that before). The original pump will run dry, should self-prime. If it doesn't, you can buy a new pump/valve body from BB (Par pump) for relatively little $$, or replace with shur-flo or equivalent. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Mark" > > I put potable water in tank, opened the kitchen & bathroom sink > facuets. The pump won't pump water with it on the fil position. I've got the over 50 sydrome. Been there, done that more than once. Sid Clark in Dallas-91WBSA40 |

Sid, don't think there is a tank fill switch on my 80. I have two water
connections in the connection box. One is for city service and the other is for filling the tank. Mark,
If all else fails, loosen or remove the hose that goes into the inlet side of your pump and let a bit of water run out. These pumps a supposed to be self priming but perhaps a bit of encouragement may help. When I had this problem with my 88fc, it was the pump. It gave the appearance of
"lost prime"...I could actually suck water into the lines and get it going sometimes. I bought a pump at west marine. It took less than an hur to install. The old pump looked like it came direct from Edisons lab. mark walk 88fc socal --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Mark" > > I put potable water in tank, opened the kitchen & bathroom sink > facuets. Mark, I had the JABSCO pump in my 73FC go bad, so I removed it and
took it to Jabsco in Costa Mesa, and they exchanged it for a new unit, no charge.---- Where in SoCal are you? My 88fc is currently parked long term at Malibu rv....put it there after our last trip, and now I spend more time there than our place in Woodland Hills. mark 88fc socal --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Jack & Donna Smith" wrote: > > Mark, I had the JABSCO pump in my 73FC go bad, so I removed it and > took it to Jabsco in Costa Mesa, and they exchanged it for a new unit, > no charge.---- Where in SoCal are you? > Jack Smith > 1973FC31 > Lake Forest > SoCal > > --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "mw88fc" <mw88fc@y...> wrote: > > > > When I had this problem with my 88fc, it was the pump.
