Replacing flooring ???

Dan, wood and ceramic can be installed in our coach. There is a sound
deadening mat that extends about 4 feet from the front cabinet by the drivers
area to
the rear. That would have to come up. The sides os the coach conceal various
wires and it looks better if you leave those carpeted. The floor in our
coaches is very strong but a backer board would be advisable under ceramic.
Weight,
would be on no consequence. Have fun- bring that coach to Jeff or down south

Jack- that stuff from Home Depot is the handyman's do it yourself version of
commercial carpet tiles. Those tiles are used in extremely heavily traffic
areas, such as airports, schools, etc. The intended use of those means that any
one that gets soiled or damaged it can be removed and a new one inserted. The
edges are pre-trimmed at the factory. If I remember correctly, they have a
poly back and are quite heavy. They are also kind of hard to cut- sharp knife is
a must. And in the coach application- will never wear out. Ernie-83PT40 in

We are thinking about replacing the carpeting with some type of
flooring that will be easier to keep clean with two or more dogs on
most trips.
We are considering ceramic tile, fake ceramic tile with attached
backer board, wood. We have a credenza with fold out dining top
rather than the dinette so floor is a little wider in kitchen area.
Was wondering what recommendations people have.
Also if anyone has done this, what did you do for the channels that
are currently carpeted.

Ernie:
At the Home Depot, we saw a 'LEGATO" type carpet. About 18" squares
of carpet, with irregular edges that nest togather.
"Very easy to install", said the salesman. "Just line them up on the
bare floor, walk on it a few times and vacume, it will look great Of
course they will stay put, the special rubberized back eliminates the
need for glue"!
He sounded very sincere, much like a time share salesman..
Ernie, What is the scoop on this stuff??.
