CRUISE CONTROL-VACUUM CONTROL
HEY GANG: THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF DISCUSSION CONCERNING THE VACUUM
CONTROL ON OLD BIRDS THAT WAS LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT BUMPER. WHEN I
CALL BLUE BIRD THEY TOLD ME THEY NO LONGER HAD THE PART. THEY SAID
JOHN BLECKLEY MOTORS (MACON GA)HAD A REPLACEMENT.THIS DEALER SELLS AND
WORKS ON A LOT OF BB, I CALL THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AND SPOKE TO RUSSELL
( 1-877-456-3700) RUSSELL SAYS THEY HAVE ONE THAT WILL REPLACE THE
ORGINIAL ONE. THAT YOU MOUNT IT SOMEWHERE ON THE CHASSIS AND RUN AN
AIR LINE TO THE ORGINIAL FITTING ON THE BIRD AND CONNECT ONE OF THE
ORGINAL AIR LINES TO THE CRUISE TO IT. IT HAS A 12 SOLENIOD SO IF ITS
WIRED CORRECTLY IT WILL SHUT OFF WHEN THE KEY SWITCH IS TURNED OFF.( I
DON'T THINK THE FITTING WILL LEAK AIR BELOW 75 PSI ANYWAY)
IT COST ABOUT $134.00.PLEASE UNDERSTAND I HAVE NOT USE ONE OR
INSTALLED I AM GOING BY WHAT RUSSELL HAS RELAYED TO ME
HOPE THIS IS GOOD INFO, IF ANYONE BUYS ONE AND INSTALLS LET ME KNOW.

Thanks for that info. I'm surprised Bluebird did not tell me that
when I called and asked them about the vacuum generator about 8
weeks ago. However, at that price, it's probably just as good to
install the Rostra electric cruise control since my vacuum cruise
control wasn't that great to begin with.

CRUISE CONTROL-VACUUM CONTROL

I bought one recently and have yet to install it. Less than $200 and uses the
existing stalk
switch and speed sensor. Someone on the forum has installed one and was happy
with it.
He offered to give me advice when I install mine but I haven't gotten around to
it yet.My
existing vacuum system would periodically cut out for no reason and it was hard
to get it
to set at the speed I wanted, so the Rostra looked like a good substitute.
