Lubricating/softening rubber?
In this month's FMCA magazine, a guy wrote in and said he was able to
make his Thetford toilet hold water again by applying a rubber conditioner of some kind to the gasket, which had become hard. I am having the same problem, and want to try his idea. Can anyone recommend a good rubber conditioner? Thanks Scott Forman 82 FC35RB Memphis |

Lubricating/softening rubber?
You might want to try silicone plumbers grease, I found some at Ace
Hardware. I use this on my waste valves for a good seal and also used it on an old O ring that wouldn't seal (couldn't find a proper replacement). Put some silicone grease on it and have not had a proplem sense --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@...> wrote: > > In this month's FMCA magazine, a guy wrote in and said he was able to > make his Thetford toilet hold water again by applying a rubber > conditioner of some kind to the gasket, which had become hard.
