Jury Duty Scam
I just served on jury duty earlier this week. The jury coordinator
mentioned this scam to all of us, telling us that prospective jurors are never
called
on the telephone, and they never ask for social security numbers. Identity
theft can happen anywhere...be aware!!

Jury Duty Scam
Be advised there is a jury duty scam ongoing in 11 states and spreading repidly.
The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest taht you never
received a summons for jury dutyk, the scammer asks for you Social Security
number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the
arrest warrant. Bingo, your identity is immediatly stolen. Beware. The scam has
been reported in 11 states with emphasis on Oklahoma, Colorado and Illinois.

Jury Duty Scam
AT my Last Jury Service summons, the coordinator asked for the
medical excused and convicted felons to approach the clerk for
dismissal. I raised my hand and asked if dismissal was a perk of a
felony conviction? She said felons can't serve and thus are excused.
I asked to be excused on felony grounds. She quickly responded that
lying on your questioner is against the law. I asked, "Is it a
felony."

5 days of jury service folowed
