power steering pump
ANDY- THAT PS PUMP IS BUILT LIKE A DUMP TRUCK AND IS VERY EASY TO
REBUILD,TWO BEARINGS AND ONE SEAL. I DO NOT HAVE NUMBERS FOR THE BEARINGS OR OIL SEAL BUT THEY ARE COMMON AND I PICKED THEM UP AT THE LOCAL BEARING HOUSE. JUST WALKED OUT TO THE BUS TO SEE IF I HAD THE NUMBERS BUT DO NOT. ABOUT THE ONLY WAY TO TEAR UP THAT PUMP IS TO RUN IT DRY FOR A GOOD WHILE,YOU CANT HARDLEY DO THAT BECAUSE WITH IT DRY YOU CANT STEER THE BUS. ONE OTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS A LEAK IN THE STEERING BOX. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN TO IT YET BUT IT IS SOMETHING YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT ON YOUR RIG.WHILE YOU HAVE IT ALL OPEN WASH IT ALL GOOD WITH A DEGREASER SO YOU CAN TELL IF YOU HAVE OTHER DRIPS. I USE SIMPLE GREEN ON SMALL JOBS AND IT SMELLS GOOD. GO FOR IT. ED MCSTAY "LONESOME DOVE' 83 fc rear bath lake charles,la. |

Juergen,
Go into the Parts Database and search on "Power Steering Pump". There are 6 references posted by members. Mike H. recommended Power Steering Specialists in Columbus OH area at 800-235-3076, so I might start with them.
