Now you see why Greg gets "banned."
I happen to think both groups have unique values all their own. That's why I participate in both of them. WOG also has a certain value, too ... but I never really got going with that one. (There's only so much time in the day...) Ernie, you have a great discussion list and it is quite valuable. Don't let un-thinking comments get you down. You would be doing them a big favor if you would point out where that is, as
they can't find it. If you can't find it, you might mention that you can't. I own/run several forums, as well as moderating others including Yahoo forums. I've never seen a web-based piece of forum software that exposes ban lists to anyone without admin privileges, but perhaps there's a bug somewhere that needs to be corrected. I'm a bit sensitive on the topic of someone suggesting that private parties doing forums about branded products are in any way detrimental, since most of the ones I do deal with some product or another. For that matter, on my commercial site I come up on Google number one ahead of the manufacturer on dozens of product lines. I would argue that is good for both of us - certainly I've never had a manufacturer complain; in fact it usually gives us an advantage in buying power with them. It is my view that all 4 forums and all formal and informal bluebird/wanderlodge
clubs are valuable and contribute to the longevity of the brand and helps people fix their equipment. We,as a team, are in far better shape than some of the other "orphans" out there in the industry. If they didn't provide value, they would not have a membership / following. Now, with that said... Pete a great search tool on google is to put site:"domain.com,net,org" after the
last term in your search. this will bring up only the hits on that domain. like: series 60 data port site:wanderlodgeownersgroup.com would find all the hit pages with the 4 terms on that site only. you can farther search a site once it showes up in a search by adding the site: limit to the next set of results Or: wanderlodge -fc -forward site:craigslist.org to search every craigslist across the country but not include FC in the results if it is a pusher you seek google also has an advance search that will filter out date ranges go to the hyperlink "advanced search" after the click to search button, at the bottom is a date range option, click on that, make a choice then the results will only hold the chosen attributes. on this site searches for files and attachments make them almost useless. members here need to use more descriptive subject headings or file names. a google search wont yield results so that search is not available. the "series 60 dataport" recent post was a good example of a thread that will be useful forever as it is easy to find in a onsite search. Until the day comes that I know it all, I will listen to anyone with knowledge or an opinion in the hopes of learning something new. Therefore I belong to WOO, WOG, Vintage, FoF , and Ernie's site here. While I certainly don't always agree with some posts, I have found this and the other sites to be invaluable to wannabees, newbees, and the old guard. It is my wish to be able to give back to all of you who DO give so freely of yourselves. Just my 2 cents! Thank you! Elliot

I agree with Pete that all the resources are valuable... I've saved myself immense time, money and effort thanks to the folks particularly on this group, and made our experience as Bluebird owners much richer. While I've met only a few in person I consider everyone here a friend. I hope to meet more of you as time passes. And as a moderator and owner on other Yahoo groups, I understand how difficult it can be to keep the peace, and offer my thanks to Ernie for doing that quite well. And taking a breath to relax and let some of our offended feelings float away is probably a good thing. And with that in mind, I would like to suggest that just because one may infer an offense doesn't mean it was intended. In real life I find myself taking offense at all sorts of things that have nothing to do with me, and someone (usually my wife) has to remind me that it isn't all about me. As a somewhat less interested party on this topic, I saw Greg's comments as simply informative, and at the worst constructive criticism not of the work that Ernie and the many very active and knowledgeable posters do, but more of some of the inherent limitations of each of the online tools we use. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he was sitting there thinking while he wrote his note "I'll get back at them - but it'll be subtle enough that some will just think it's tech talk." "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are". Anais NinThanksGreg Young 86 PT40 "Bluefire" Back at home base in Escondido CA after 6 months and 15,000 miles on the road. I, too, enjoy the help available on the forum. So far, it has saved my butt about 5 times when problems arose. In fact, most answers came within 15 minutes - I find that amazing! I really need this forum because I don't know it all. I don't take offense to anyone here. While opinions vary, I have the ability to use my BS filter and I ignore anything destructive. I refuse to participate in the arguments and sometimes find them amusing and/or entertaining. Frankly, others should do the same. And, I find the 'shoe' entertaining. I don't think every post has to be BB related. All forums have people who are controversial and people who choose to argue with them. It's best to just ignore it and focus on the good stuff. I thank Ernie (and anyone else) for keeping this resource alive and well. I know I need the help and hope to help others when I can. We,as a team, are in far better shape than some of the other "orphans" out there in the industry. If they didn't provide value, they would not have a membership / following. I used the word "classified" in the string so I could bring up wanderlodges for sale...... which it did, but it also brought up the "members list" from Bruce's forum....... not good ( get it, classified list). Now I know Randy's forum just upgraded their software last week and his list DID NOT show up......... so my best guess is their is a "bug" in v bulletin software.... .. and also proves someone's earlier point that everyone's contribution is important BUT a little common courtesy for our fellow members would go a LONGGGGGG way! > > > > --- In "WanderlodgeForum%40yahoogroups.com", Ernie Ekberg > > > > Thanks Pete, This forum has been part of my heart and sometimes comments get to me. > > > > > > Ernie Ekberg > > 83PT40 > > Wanderlodge > > Weatherford, Tx 817-475-3991 > > http://autos. groups.yahoo. com/group/ erniesremodeling andrepair > > > > --- On Wed, 10/28/09, Pete Masterson > > > > > > From: Pete Masterson > > Subject: Re: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Intellectual Property arrives at Parliament Coach Corp. I later hyped what I still fell to be a good bus and deal that someone lost a one grand deposit on based on my boasted opinion.
