Sluggish 8V92
Hi Ernie,
Ive got an 87. Im interested in this though, as I hope to upgrade sometime to a early 90's model that would have the DDEC. In light of that I bought on ebay a DDEC reader with cartridge. No way to test it though! Still looking for DDEC manuals too. They are pretty pricey on ebay ;} I have a 8v92 mechanical manual... /Joe On Sun, Dec 2, 2012 at 11:06 AM, Ernie E <"ernietex@yahoo.com"> wrote:

Interesting. I have an 88 xxv wbwl it has an 86 Detroit 8v92 with a DDEC. You must have an older engine. Bluebird must have bought several at a time and put them on a rack until they had a bus to put them in. I went to my Detroit dealer for some help with codes. They didn't (at first) have a reader for the ddec ( too old). When they got it together? They were still unable to interpret and isolate the problem. Code was injector firing late. The coach runs fine and the code show up only when I let off the accelerator pedal. Thanks, Jim Riordan

We have the same bus. When this happens I check the codes and I find the codes as previous. Mmm throttle sensor Thanks, Jim Riordan

The "DDEC" I purchased is for the "series 60" engine. The company I purchased
it from is programing it for the 8V92. The tech working on the engine is skeptical, saying he hasn't had any luck using the series 60's DDEC on an 8V92. He claims there are always some little issues/glitches that pop up. The company I purchased this from assures me, and guarantees, that it will work. This just keeps getting more interesting. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Joe Garner > > Might be better off looking into an upgrade.
