2000 lxi w/500 hp D-60. I just had the coolant flushed and refilled in
the spring of last yr. I've looked under the engine shroud and can't
figure out where to add a 50/50 solution of diesel antifreeze/water. I
don't see a plastic radiater overflow/reservoir tank or what you'd
expect to see under the hood of a car and for that reason I don't even
know how much to add. Where do I put the the fluid in and how much do
I put in? Thanks.

Hi Ron,

If yours is the same as my '99LXi, the coolant fill "door" (about 5"
square) is on the rear, above the engine compartment door, just left of
center. You can access it with the engine compartment either open or
closed, an angled funnel is helpful. The coolant reservoir itself is in
the engine compartment, top center and has a sight glass to indicate
full. On mine the coolant is only visible when warm and adding extra
will result in expelling it through the overflow when hot. Fill until
it just shows in the sight glass and your low-coolant light should go
out.

When you raise the engine cover compartment the
opening is concealed by the cover. It's in the
center, left to right.

Thank you John Suter and G man. Coming from 2 lxi
guys this has to be good advice. I'm looking at this
from my poor email connection via my yahoo mailbox so
I'll try to get this out. Can't get to the forum.
By the way John, a few months back you helped me on
the problem with the ceiling spotters. I have the
solution if you still need it. Thanks again.
