Starting Batteries

I suggest you get the highest CCA's you can for those group 31 batteries.
The highest I can recall is 1150 CCA's.(I think)

Thanks Hank, This is my first encounter with Continental batteries. The owner
of the battery shop says he can't keep enough of them on hand. Ernie-83pt40

Don,

I have four 12V dual purpose, deep cycle/start marine batteries in
the left front bay ( anything dual purpose never does either very
well).
There is a big truck/bus start battery, I think it is called a 4D
or 8D in the right front bay, ( 970cca). All batteries are tied
together.

These batteries are about 3+ years old. They work OK, But, This
arrangement does not hold up very well for dry camping.
Next season I will replace all with 6 volt Trojans.

The gennie battery is isolated with its' with own alternator and
ability to charge from the battery charger.
The auxilary battery switch adds the gennie battery to the circuit
to help start the Cat or the gennie.

When adding water remember to use disstilled water, not tap. Will
help them last. Speaking from the school of hard knocks, with a
masters degree.

Bill What brand is your starting batteries? I have the 6 volt 135
Trojans in the coach & like them but wanted to get different batteries than
the
golf cart for the starter. I agree on the dual purpose never does either very
well.

small motorhome in Australia for over 5 years and are still cranking
13.8 on the solar charger....highly recommend one looks at Trojans
before they buy. I have two six volt T105's in parralell. heck..I
cant spell!

water in my 5 yr old trojan 6 volt t105's.don't know if thats why they
are still going but I have NO aligaters here after using my repellent!
