Tank Odor
Does your toilet have a small hole at the top below the rim?If so it
goes from the top and bypass the gate valve to prevent over flow.It
has a 360 degree loop with water in it to prevent odours from coming
back up.
Over a period of time the water will evaperate and odors will come
up.Squirt a little antifreeze or better yet mineral oil in.This will
prevent evaperation and freezing and keep tank odours down.

Rich,
Yes, the toilet is the Microphor air unit. I'll check out the link...and
check for the leak as you suggest. Thanks.

Tank Odor
Curt,

We usually put some liquid dish washing detergent in the black tank with a
couple of gallons of water before leaving on a trip. This seems to keep the
tank reasonably clean. The soap I added the last time had some type of
reaction & really stunk up the place. This is the only time we have had any
problems in
five years of ownership. After the tank was flushed the odor ceased. We
have not had any problems since. The soap used this particular time was from a
leaking bottle of hand soap. Maybe the soap used in the bathroom sink has
reacted with the contents of your holding tank.

Just a thought, Have a great holiday,

Curt if you do have an air type Microphor keep in mind that Randy has one on
the shelf. It's not likely you'll need a whole toilet but I thought I'd let you
know just in case.
