Kohler genset tripping
Hi, finally time to get back to the genset trip problem.
I noticed the fan isn't turning and after a short time the red reset
button trips.
The fan seems to turn easily by hand. Any suggestions on what would
cause the fan not to turn?
thanks

Rose Mary, if your circuit breakers on the control box are tripped- you will
have no power to make your fan turn. Ernie-83pt40 in Texas

Kohler genset tripping
Hi,
I assume that circuit breaker is the one on the wall inside the
generator compartment. It did not seem to be tripped tho I did switch
it on and off to be sure...no change. I think it is just something
simple like that as most everything I have found wrong (in my
learning curve with the 'White Bird' has been as easy as operator
error most of the time. It's hard to see and get back to that breaker
box and I cannot seem to get it completely open, are there just the 2
connected breakers?
Thanks so much for the help.
I will check the wires on back of the motor tomorrow and look for
corrosion and try to reset those breakers again just to be certain.

Rose Mary- the control box behind the generator engine is the unit I was talking
about. You might have to air the coach up to extend the generator tray. My box
use to trip those breakers every once in a while. Ernie 83pt40 in Texas

Kohler genset tripping
Rose Mary,
On our 1987, in order for the generator system fan motor to run (turn),
it needs voltage, which the alternator (the Kohler unit) should provide.
The fan will not turn if the voltage is not present. On ours, it turned
out the Kohler unit was bad, not putting out the voltage due to corroded
windings, etc. I replaced the Kohler with the Newage unit. I suggest
having a reliable generator shop test your system.
