Where are my circuit breakers? 87FC35

I think you've been chasing the gremlin. Turn on your emergency flashers,
and see if those side lights light up. Typically those are turn indicator
lights, not clearance lights.

Good luck....hope you didn't spend too much time and effort trying to get
those things to light up as clearance lights! Been there...done that!

Well, I'm still learning where everything is on my new Bird. This
is my latest problem (that I need to get fixed so I can get Texas
tags).

My side running lights are inop. (Not the ones at the top of the
coach, the lower ones) There are two on each side. I think I found
the problem. It was a short on one of the lights. I corrected the
problem, but they still won't come on. So, here are my questions.

1. Figure 10-2 in my manual (Lower Front Load Center) says that
circuit breaker #10, wire #1 is for my "Parking and tail lights".
My front and rear tail lights ARE working, but if those side lights
aren't that, then I don't know what they are called. Any thoughts?

2. And even if that was the circuit breaker, I can't find it. I've
taken my grill off and taken off both access panels behind the
grill. On the drivers side I see only maybe two of the small (maybe
1" square) black boxes that I understand are the circuit breakers.
My manual shows there to be 25 of them in the lower front load
center. ...So I must not be looking in the right place..??

Have you tried hooking a power source to the individual light direct
to see if the light is still faulty if not the case you may have to
chase the wire to look for a break or run new wire to the offending
lights also check the grounds

Hi Alan,

Good to see you digging into the repairs.

The two black 1" square items, I think are the Bosh relays.
There are many in the Bird. The two behind the front headlight
panel forward of the brake pedal are for the round Driving lights in
the Bumper, turned on with the headlight highbeam switch and the
driving light toggle switch on the
transmission button consol.
I also think the load center you may be refering to is the left
front load center, located in the overhead above and right of the
dinette table. I am a little confused with your discription.
The white cornering lights located on the front , left and right bay
doors light with the turn signals , I believe the headlights need to
also be turned ON.

Hey there Alan, congrats on the new to you coach. I have an 86FC35RB.
When talking about lighting it can be somewhat confusing as most
things with older BB.

I think Leroy is correct. The amber lights on the side of the coach
are turn signals. The only running or marker lights are amber on
front cap, red on the back cap and red/amber along the goat rail. You
should be able to turn those on with a switch on the dash "MARKER
LIGHTS" mine do not come on automatically. There are some "stick on"
amber markers but they do not have lights.

Now for some confusing stuff..There is a solenoid in the upper front
compartment above the driver, this solenoid works the turn signals in
the rear, along with the heavy duty switch under the dash. Plus when
working on the lights, the tail/turn lights in the rear go through a
load center, mine are located in the upper rear load center passenger
side, above a bed in our case. A good upgrade is to add a relay to
push more power to dim lights both headlights and rear lights. Also
some have removed the lenses and put chrome finish on the inside of
the lamp assembly itself. Either paint or the easiest in my opinion
is to us some hvac tape. The thin aluminum tape that hvac folks use,
it is adhesive on the back, some have even cut pie pans to put in
there.

Alan,
Try this it worked for me. Unscrew the mounting screws from the coach coat with
dialectric grease and reattach. The ground is often corroded this fixed the
problem with my running lights and patio lights also.
