3208 NA rpm
What is the top rpm of a 3208 NA in a Bluebird.
My '78 peaks about 25 or 2600. I can put the trany in 3rd and take it
to the top speed and it stops at 2500 and doesn't shift, so the trans
doesn't register an over speed. Is this normal, or is the high idle or
throttle linkage in need of adjustment? I thought the top RPM was
closer to 3000.

3050 is enough for a NA. Low side of the scale is 1900, it will live longer if
you cruise at 2400/2600. Some will say it's OK to run on the governor, but it
ain't so. Valves tend to fall into the cylinders. You need to verify the
throttle is all the way open, don't sound like it is.

3208 NA rpm
3208NA is typically governed at 2800rpm. You should have a couple of hundred
more rpm's
somwhere.
