Refir LP and LP Heat Switch
I have been having sporadic luck getting my refir to work on LP. This
evening, I have determined that it appears that it will only work on LP when the "LP Heat" switch on the dash is in the on position. Anyone have any opinion why this would be? One should have nothing to do with the other. Scott Forman 86 PT38 Memphis |

Wonder if running a flame on the cooktop with the lp heat off would
prove ;refer working on lp. that may show some issue with the regulator not opening up for a minor referboiler flame????? or air in line. if lp tank is pushing air that fails to ignite the flame on the referboiler and the heaters running purges the line continously????? might be more evident on the cooktop performance my 94pt has a lpg master switch. maybe there is one on the 86pt that is automatic with the dash 'lpHeat' switch??? new fan mod could be blowing out the flame??? Scott,
Over the years, I've chalked alot of LP gas prolems up to faulty pressure regulators. If you are still using the original ones, it might be time for some replacements. They don't cost too much and do eventually clog and/or wear out. Refir LP and LP Heat Switch
I just went out to the 'Bird. The LP dash switch is in the off position. The frig. LP works in this off mode. Interesting.

On myPT40-the 25 year old version. If the green lite is not on under the booth for the gas, there is no gas anywhere to be found, except in the LP tank

Refir LP and LP Heat Switch
On our 88 FC, which has many of the same schematics as the PT's.
The LP Heat dash switch controls 12 volts to the Suburban Furnaces. So if the thermostats are set to ON and calling for heat the Suburbans will ignite. The Propane detector/ auto propane shut off solenoid, is wired through the Electronic Master. So the Electronics Master switch must be turned "ON", to make the Propane flow. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Curt Sprenger" > > I just went out to the 'Bird. Refir LP and LP Heat Switch
More than interesting; potentially dangerous? I thought that both the
master LP switch and the gas alarm always had to be on for the LP to work on anything LP. Could PO have modified the frig? Refir LP and LP Heat Switch
I don't use the lp on my refer or stove much. I found that if i turned on the stove and got the gas flowing to it, then i was able to get the refer to work on the lp side. Jim Riordan Stuart Fl Curt Sprenger
