Aqua hot leaking diesel

If you are going to do much work on your AH putting those valves in the fuel
line are a good idea. I was worried about the internal integrity of the fuel
lines if I had to keep pinching them with Vice Grips to shut off the fuel. And,
since fuel leaking seems to be a systemic problem (I too have a leaking fuel
pump I am getting ready to replace), it really helps to be able to shut off the
fuel. For a year I have just been turning the fuel on when I wanted to run the
AH and then turning it off when I turned the AH off. I realize that's more
hassle than most people want but as a full timer, most of the time in warm
places, using my AH on diesel fuel is not a frequent occurrence. However, just
to have it right I am going to replace my pump. My fuel lines come down the
compartment wall toward the front of the coach so I mounted the valves there
before they go inside the AH.

If you put those valves in make sure to get high quality valves. The fuel
pressure is very high. The first time I got some at an auto supply store they
told me diesel fuel was no problem but when I turned on the AH it blew the
valves apart. (what a mess) I got the good ones at Grainger.

And also, as Rick mentioned,I put plug in connectors on the four wires under
the left cover (I have been thinking about replacing those four plug in
connectors with a 4 wire trailer connector to make it even easier), so I now can
take the whole unit in and out very easily. Sometimes these units are hard to
get to so it is better to be able to work on it on the bench (and easier on my
old back along with being easier to get tools on it)

By the way, I have great respect for Roger Berke, and he has helped me
immensely. He really knows what he is doing and when he is not close like he
will be at Quartzite, he is nice enough to offer suggestions if you want to
tackle it yourself. And he has or can get all the parts as I recall at a
discount. And when you are working with AH prices that helps.

Anyway, if you don't want to mess with it or if Roger's there, I'd get him to do
it in a heartbeat.

I would add to what Rick is saying but instead of just fuel injector line go
with the Goodyear J30R9 fuel line. It is setup to withstand Biodiesel since it
has an internal vital lining. With about 2 - 3% mandated blending going on and
only increased percentage in the future, I believe we will start seeing fuel
lines weeping and failing.
