Well and this may be the nugget of the problem with craigslist, we (buyers)
cannot find out who is placing the ad, but they get our email address if they
give us only that way to respond.

Since I've been shopping, only once have I given my email address to a dealer,
but I get lots of email from dealers I don't know.

Novice sellers tend to over-describe and leave out what you want to know. Pros
tend to tantalize so that you want to learn more. They make it sound like
something we want, and want to know more.

Still, it's possible that an ailing seller would prefer not to hear the phone
ring, or to allow his private email address to be publicized, and the good deals
that are for real often go quickly. --WB
