AC one leg

Good to hear from you.

The inverter does work from batteries to AC. Futher more, I reconnected
the inverter inut AC leg back to the breaker panel (with the inverter
AC output still disc.). In that configuration the generator AC leg was not
dropped. This gets curiouser and curiouser. I am taking a battery
charger with me. Will plug it in when the generator is running.

My inverter is located in the middle small closet behind the bed -
doesn't get wet or dirty, but I have to remember to leave the closet
door open for cooling.

Hi Art,

It sounds to me like you "could" have a welded transfer relay. This can
happen when an A/C compressor tries to start while in the invert mode. Are any
of your A/C's powered through the inverter?

My inverter AC output is conn. to one of the two main breakers, so
it supplies power to 1/2 of the AC panel. That would include one
of the air conditioners. It took me some time to figure that out
as it follows none of the examples in the manuals on how to hook it up. Of
course there were no examples availible as to how it was connected.
