Refir LP and LP Heat Switch

Blue Book states:

"L.P. HEAT Switch - When in the ON position, 12v power is supplied to the L.P.G furnaces."

I believe our 'Bird is working as BB designed.

Curt,

Are we talking two different switches? It may be interpretation, but
I think I agree with what your book says: 12V power is supplied.

As I recall in my 83 PT, I could have power to the furnace igniters
without having LP going to them if the LP master or the alarm under
the dinette was off. On my 91, I don't have LP furnaces, but if either
(or both) the LP master is off and the alarm is off, I do not get any
LP to the stove or the frig, but I do have igniter power to them.

Am I reading this one wrong??

I'm not locating the documentation for the 12v Master Switch. I believe Bill Pape is right..the 12v Master Switch must be ON for propane to flow.

My error. It's the ELECTRONIC 12v Master Switch that must be on, as Bill said.

Curt,

That's why I asked if I was talking about the right switch. LOL...
It is so easy to talk in cross purposes on the different models. On
the 91, I've got the 12V Electronic master, the LPG Master and the LP
alarm to remember. I can guarantee you also that if you forget the
12V electronic master, the step doesn't go in! Among other things.

Don't forget the switch at the external LP filler neck, on my coach
it will override all LP systems. Because or the presence of an excess
flow valve in the LPG tank outlet ( Safety Feature ), sometimes an
appliance will not relight after a shutdown. . In this circumstance,
wait five ( 5 ), minutes for LPG pressure to equalize before
relighting, excerpt from owners manual. for those that have them

Our '87 FC has LP heat switch on the dash. It is LP heat only. We do not have a "master" LP switch. LP to the galley is controlled by the "sniffer" a 12-volt device. No 12-volt power, no LP in galley. Of course you can turn all LP off at the tank. Jean Eichenlaub '87 FC 35' "The Bird' San Diego, CA
